The season is just underway for delicious Florida Stone Crabs. If you haven’t have any this season yet, run don’t walk, to your local fishmonger. They are fabulous! The Stone crab’s run 5 to 6.5 inches long and 5 in wide in larger crabs. They are brownish red with gray spots and their underside is tan. These crabs are unusual in that they have large and unequally-sized claws with distinguishable black tips. The crabs are a great low fat, low calorie source of protein, which makes them a great choice for anytime!
