Food Facts on Eggs

  • You can tell if an egg is freshly looking at the yolk. If the yolk is slightly globe-shaped and sitting high, and the albumen (or egg white) is gathered closely around it, then the egg is fresh.
  • There’s no nutritional difference between white and brown eggs — they just come from different breeds of hens.
  • The incredible edible egg has thousands of uses in cooking.
They can be eaten for any meal and put in almost everything.
  • The United States produced 6.23 billion eggs in February 2013 alone.
  • Egg sales are the highest during Easter time.
